Nobody's free to answer the phone. NxtSeat is.
NxtSeat answers your business line, quotes the prices you actually charge, books into the diary your staff already use, and texts the customer to confirm. For salons, barbers, clinics and studios, where the phone rings while both hands are busy.
- Caller
- Hi, have you got anything Saturday for a cut and a beard trim?
- NxtSeat
- We have. Saturday the 11th — 10:30 with Dani, or 2 o'clock with Marcus. Cut and beard trim is $45, about 45 minutes.
- Caller
- Two o'clock works.
- NxtSeat
- Booked. Can I take your name and mobile number?
- Caller
- Omar — 612-555-0148.
- NxtSeat
- Thanks Omar. You're in Saturday at 2 o'clock with Marcus. I'll text the confirmation now.
Sharp & Co: your Cut & beard trim is booked for Sat 11 Oct, 2:00pm with Marcus. Reply to this number if you need to change it.
One phone number, pointed at NxtSeat instead of at voicemail.
A missed call is a booking that went to the shop down the road.
NxtSeat picks up on the first ring, in your business's name. It reads your services, prices, opening hours, staff rotas and time off live, at the moment of the call — so when you change a price in the app, that is the price the next caller is quoted. There is no separate script to maintain.
It answers
In your business's name, around the clock. If the caller asks for a service you don't offer, it says so instead of inventing one.
It books
Against the right staff member, checking their working hours and time off. The appointment appears in the provider app immediately.
It hands over
Complaints, prices it can't quote and callers who ask for a person go to your transfer number — or get a callback promise, and you get the notice.
It follows up
Confirmations and reminders by text. If you turn it on, a note to customers who are about due for their usual appointment.
What we send, who agreed to it, and how to make it stop.
Our text messaging programme
Every business on NxtSeat texts from its own phone number, under its own name, and under its own carrier registration. NxtSeat is the platform that sends on their behalf; it does not text consumers in its own name, and it does not operate a shared or rotating pool of numbers.
What we send
These are the actual message templates, with the business name, customer name, service and time filled in at send time.
| Message type | Sample | How often |

| Change or cancellation | Sharp & Co: your appointment has been moved to Sat 11 Oct, 4:00pm. | Only when it changes |
| Appointment reminder | Sharp & Co: a reminder of your appointment tomorrow at 2:00pm with Marcus. | Once, ~12 hours before |
| Payment notice | Sharp & Co: $45.00 has been charged to your card on file. Late cancellation, under 24 hours' notice. | Only when charged |
| Offers and reminders to rebook | Hi Omar, it's Sharp & Co. You're about due for your usual cut — want us to book you in? Reply STOP to opt out. | At most 1 per 30 days |
The first four are part of the service: they are about an appointment the customer made, and they are sent whether or not the customer has agreed to marketing. The last one is marketing, needs explicit agreement, and is capped at one message per customer per 30 days across every campaign.
How customers agree to receive texts
Customers are never bought, imported from a list, or added by default. Agreement is recorded with its date, time and source every time, and we keep that record so we can say where it came from.
- At signup. An optional box in the NxtSeat customer app, unchecked by default. Skipping it is recorded as a decline, not left blank.
- In the app, any time. Settings → Notifications carries the same switch. It can be turned off there as easily as it was turned on.
- In person at the business. Staff can record that a customer agreed at the counter. The record names the member of staff and the date.
- By text. Replying START to a business's number turns messages back on after a STOP.
How to stop them
Reply STOP to any message — or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT — and that number stops receiving marketing from that business at once. Reply HELP for help, or write to support@nxtseat.com. Turning marketing off does not cancel a booking, and a customer who has opted out still gets the confirmation for an appointment they make.
Message and data rates may apply
Message frequency varies by how often a customer books. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Numbers are shared only with the communications providers that deliver the message on our behalf. Our privacy policy and terms of service set this out in full.
